Marc was a dream chaser. Five years ago, he traded his busy life in Amsterdam for a new adventure in Italy. He gave up his job as an IT consultant to build Agriturismo Casafaro from the ground up. In a short time, he taught himself – with the help of his Italian neighbours – all the skills he needed: from contractor to host and from technician to carpenter.

His greatest pride was caring for the two hectares of vineyards surrounding the agriturismo. Moving with the seasons, watching the grapes grow and ripen, bringing in the harvest… Marc couldn’t get enough of it. He sometimes joked that he was looking forward to the day when he could change his job title on LinkedIn to “winegrower”. Unfortunately, it never came to that.

On 31 May 2025, his dolce vita came to an abrupt end. Marc died at the age of 52 in a tragic accident.

To continue his dream, we use the grape harvest to produce two special wines:
The red “Marc Montepulciano” is a ruby-red powerhouse, with deep aromas of ripe cherries and plums, silky tannins and a warm finish in which you can taste the love and attention given to the vineyard.

The white “Marc Passerina” has fresh citrus notes, floral accents and an elegant acidity. Perfect as an aperitif and with light fish dishes.
