Over the recent period, many toasts have been made to Marc; which is exactly what this wine was intended for: sharing memories together, celebrating life, and feeling Marc’s presence nearby. We received wonderful photos of full glasses, long tables, and empty bottles, along with many kind messages about how much the wine was enjoyed and questions about whether there would be a future delivery.

And there will be! In October, Marc’s wine will be available once again, both in the Netherlands and in Italy. This is for everyone who has run out of stock, wishes to give the wine as a gift, wants to fill Christmas hampers with Marc’s wine, or simply wants to toast to life once more, just as Marc did.

Marc was a hunter of dreams. Five years ago, he traded his busy life in Amsterdam for a new adventure in Italy. He left his career as an IT consultant behind to build Agriturismo Casafaro from the ground up. In a short amount of time—with the help of his Italian fellow villagers—he taught himself every trade necessary: from contractor to host, and from technician to carpenter.

His greatest pride was caring for the two hectares of vineyard surrounding the agriturismo. Moving with the seasons, watching the grapes grow and ripen, bringing in the harvest… Marc could never get enough of it. He sometimes joked that he looked forward to the day he could change his job title on LinkedIn to ‘winemaker.’ Sadly, it never came to that.

On May 31, 2025, his dolce vita came to a sudden end. Marc passed away at the age of 52 due to a tragic accident.

To continue his dream, we are using the wine harvest to produce two special wines:

• The red ‘Marc Montepulciano’ is a ruby-red powerhouse, with deep aromas of ripe cherries and plums, silky-smooth tannins, and a warm finish in which the love and attention for the vineyard can be tasted.
• The white ‘Marc Passerina’ features fresh citrus notes, floral accents, and an elegant acidity. It is perfect as an aperitif and with light fish dishes.

These wines are a tribute to Marc’s love for his vineyard and the life he built in Italy. Practical Information:

• Price: EUR 15.75 per bottle.
• Availability: From October onwards.
• Pick-up locations: Haarlem (Netherlands) or Agriturismo Casafaro in Petritoli (Italy).
• Shipping: For deliveries to the Netherlands, a limited additional transport contribution may be requested due to rising fuel and transport prices. We will provide information about this in advance.

With every bottle that is opened, Marc’s dream continues a little further. It is as if he is sitting at the table with you for a moment, enjoying life together.
